San Diego MLS

by Sandy Mitchell

Real estate in greater San Diego is widely varied and not inexpensive. Figuring out what's available, with what features, and at what price can be confusing. Perhaps you're relocating to California from the Midwest or Northeast. Or maybe you are just trying to sift through all the real estate information available while working, caring for kids, and just going about a busy life.

The San Diego MLS (multiple listing search) can help make finding a house a lot easier. Whether you're looking for a condo, a beachfront home, or a vacation cottage, you can search available properties from the comfort of your own home. What easier way to find your dream home?

Multiple Listing Search

The MLS lists all available properties in a given area. Also listed are the number of rooms, size of the rooms, features, and lot size. Many also list property tax information. Many realtors add features such as exterior photos and virtual tours, a series of photos throughout the home and property.

Using MLS along with the services of a real estate agent gives a home buyer the best of both worlds. While not dependent on an agent to choose what houses to view, a buyer can still take advantage of an agent's experience in living and selling homes in the area. The MLS is also a good tool for agents. She can e-mail a property description to an out-of-town client and use the descriptions to narrow down the properties she will visit with a client.
