San Diego Condos For Sale

by Sandy Mitchell

San Diego, the relaxed, sparkling jewel of Southern California, offers beautiful weather, cultural enrichment, major sports teams, and a casually elegant lifestyle. Condo living makes living there even easier. Some buildings offer indoor parking, pools, tennis courts, or even concierge service. A diverse mixture of neighborhoods have housing to fit every taste, from sleek modern condos to charming restored storefronts.

San Diego Condos

Downtown San Diego's Marina neighborhood offers deluxe high-rise condos in shiny modern buildings that offer ocean views and lots of amenities. A few blocks away, the Gaslamp district offers restored 19th century lofts and converted warehouses amid restaurants, antique stores, and nightclubs. Also right downtown is the Horton Plaza, a mixed-use complex with modern condos, shopping, and offices all under one roof.

A little north of downtown are the Mission Valley and Old Town neighborhoods. These areas are more affordable than downtown condos, but still are close to the Balboa Park museums as well as to shopping and the ocean. Many of these condos were built in the mid-1970s and frequently offer bay views.

The quiet classic neighborhoods of Coronado, just across the bridge from downtown San Diego, and La Jolla, just north of San Diego, offer unique, ultra-deluxe condo living with sweeping ocean views. Coronado, right on the ocean, yet minutes away from the bustle of downtown San Diego, is an exclusive enclave. La Jolla, filled with antique stores, artist galleries, and fine dining restaurants, is popular with celebrities, artists, and business leaders.
