Abstract Art PrintsAll styles of art have the potential of taking us to another place, allowing us to relish in the exploration of our imaginations and to embrace the emotions the art arouses. The world of abstract art, however, is based purely on energy and emotion. Nothing is spelled out for us. There are no recognizable objects to immediately connect to on a familiar level. Abstract art challenges us to go deeper inside of ourselves in order to understand why the abstract painting we are looking at moves us the way it does. At the same time, the art does not have to be intellectualized. We can simply enjoy the journeys it takes us on and allow ourselves to feel openly and freely the emotions the art provokes. Abstract art is full of hidden interpretive and emotive worlds. First, there is the world the artist danced around when he or she was painting the artwork. That world belongs only to the artist, as it is where his or her inspirations, experience and emotions blend together. Then there is the objective world that analyzes the shapes, lines, colors and textures of the painting. This is the world we visit when we are intellectualizing how the colors and flow of the art will fit in with the red throw pillows in the living room. Finally, there is the world of energy and feelings. This is the world that leaves us speechless when we look at the artwork. It is where we let ourselves fall into feeling and let our imaginations blend with those of the artist. When you select abstract prints for the purpose of interior design, it is important to acknowledge all of these worlds. There are plenty of guidelines and tips for using art in your home and office decorating and they can be very helpful, but don't forget to trust your instincts and let the art move you. When you are decorating your home, remember that it is your environment. It should express who you are and where you feel comfortable. When you are decorating your restaurant, book store or offices with abstract art, think about how the art prints will create a certain mood or tone and how that will affect the overall environment. Decorating with Abstract Art PrintsThe art pieces you select for each room will most definitely add color, dimension and light to the space. That part is the obvious point of decorating. However, decorating with abstract art can allow you to impress a mood on your environment. For example, a print that is full of dark, angular and weighty shapes can feel mysterious and somewhat edgy. One example of this may be the Ribas - Hours of the Day II framed print. Airy paintings that are full of light can feel magical and motivational. A couple of examples of this are the Cantlin-Forces of Nature I & II prints. Paintings that are geometrically balanced with pleasant color tones can feel quiet and peaceful, similar to the Fabre - House Windows print. Cover Your Walls offers all of the prints mentioned here, as well as a large variety of other abstract works in the online gallery on this site. ![]() Get all Posters articles via
