Golf Spa Resorts

by Jason White

Many of the top golf resorts have spa facilities for those that don't want to golf at all. Golf spa resorts are also ideal for rejuvenating after 18 holes. What could be better than a massage to renew yourself for another beautiful day on the course? Generally, spa services come at an added cost, but some resorts offer a set number of treatments along with the room or suite.

For all the fitness buffs, spa resorts tend to offer fitness centers as well. And if being inside isn't ideal, some resorts also offer hiking and biking trails. How you want to spend your time off the course will play a large role in the type of resort you use. Generally these spas are situated on several private acres of land away from everything so that the golf trip feels like more of a getaway than a day on the greens.

Spa Resorts: Not Just for Adults

Some resorts realize that couples may be traveling there for time away from the world. A select few offer teen and kid spas in addition to the adult facilities. Parents and children can enjoy a day of pampering together as a family before going off to the links. Some resorts also offer children's programs and day centers so that parents can have some time alone.

Many of these resorts aren't on the cheap side, so finding a deal maybe a bit difficult. However there are many agents and travel websites devoted to spa resorts and golf trips, so finding one within your budget is very possible. Your best bet will probably be to look for package deals that offer accommodations, greens fees, and spa treatments for a single price. These are often cheaper than going a la carte.
