New Nintendo Game Releases

by Devin Flanigan

Though it has been on the block since the dawn of home video gaming, Nintendo shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to putting out innovative new game releases. No other company has made its mark by focusing on creating memorable characters that people are willing to follow from console to console. Whatever the future of video games may bring, it is a certain bet that Mario and Zelda will be there to see it.

Almost all of the credit for Nintendo's enduring appeal can be placed firmly at the feet of legendary game developer Shigeru Miyamoto. A name renowned in the world of gaming, Miyamoto's focus on creative and colorful game play has made each new title that bears his imprint an event in the Nintendo world. Any new game release based on a Miyamoto franchise is a must-have for serious Nintendo fans.

Nintendo fans are not confined to the GameCube or mothballed legacy consoles, either. Nintendo has always been at the forefront of handheld gaming, long before the PSP was even a glint in Sony's eye. The dual-screen DS has a touch screen that provides gaming experiences undreamt of on other consoles. Innovations such as adding movement-sensitive gyroscopes to Gameboy cartridges has players literally twisting and shouting as they conquer new gaming frontiers.

Though Nintendo now often finds itself shouted out by the Sony and Microsoft marketing juggernauts, Miyamoto and company show no signs of abandoning their quest to create incredible new Nintendo game releases. If keeping up with their output is a drain on the wallet, consider renting games instead of buying. The quality of the new releases Nintendo continues to churn out makes them mandatory for true fans of video game excellence.
