Alienware Laptop

by Ivan Gale

It isn't difficult to spot an Alienware laptop. The company has long distanced itself from other companies by way of its case design. Although not as striking as its desktop designs, its laptops bear the characteristic edgy look of an Alienware machine. Like all of its products, Alienware sells laptops in a multitude of flashy color options.

Alienware laptops are primarily built for multimedia computer gaming. However, that's not all the Miami-based company has set its sights on. Alienware also has its eyes on Apple, which has done well with its lightweight Powerbook series of laptops that are capable of executing sophisticated audio and video tasks. Alienware makes entertainment or media notebooks that are trying to compete for the same artistic consumer.

Alienware Laptops Appeal to Arts Professionals

Audio and video producers now have more options. It may be difficult for Alienware to wrest away devoted fans of the Mac, like audio and video producers, but the company is prepared to try. Their artistic designs alone have won converts, regardless of how the machines perform.

Alienware's laptops aren't cheap--some of the entertainment laptops are more than $3,500. That's not too much to ask for the arts professionals, who clearly need the most beefed-up notebooks for their work. This class of laptops is called "desktop replacements," because they have the power of a traditional desktop. Unfortunately, these laptops also sometimes resemble a desktop's size, weight and cost.
