0870 Numbers

by Patricia Skinner

Many businesses are now looking at special telephone services to help them expand their business out of their immediate geographical location. It stands to reason that most customers will not consider making a long distance telephone call of any kind in order to find out about goods or services that they may, or may not decide to buy. Given a choice, all shoppers will choose the cheapest option.

So businesses that can offer their callers a free or cheap rate calling option are going to be placing themselves at an advantage when compared to companies that don't take the trouble to provide the option. Purchasing number translation services, or NTS, is simple and straightforward, and will usually give you several different options as far as numbers are concerned.

Is Free the Best Choice?

The most popular numbers are those that are free. They begin with 0800, and can be expensive, especially those that are easy to remember. A number that is catchy is worth extra money to any business because it results in more callers, and therefore more business. However, since these numbers are not always a worthwhile expense for a business for any project where they're not expecting a great number of callers, there are less expensive options.

Take 0870 numbers, for example. Wherever you are, your customers can call you at the standard national rate. This can inspire confidence in your customers who may not want to place a long distance call. If you only want your customers to pay a local rate call, then you need to choose a 0845 number.
