Indoor Air Purifiers

by Tara Peris

Most of us overestimate the cleanliness of our homes. Although they may not be models of cleanliness and order, we assume that the mess is limited to what we can see. We zero in on stacks of paper, dishes in the sink, and laundry that needs to be done. Very rarely, however, do we think of hidden germs and dirt that contaminate our homes. Very rarely do we think of the cleanliness of our air.

The Benefits of an Indoor Air Purifier

When most people think about cleaning their homes, it conjures unpleasant images of washing, vacuuming, and straightening. Somehow, our minds intuitively shift toward the mess that we can see. This is unfortunate given that some of the more salient dangers stem from small, stealthy germs you can't even see.

Microorganisms like fungus, bacteria, and plant and animal dander can pollute the air effortlessly. This is because we transition through numerous environments throughout the day, tracking residue wherever we go. In turn, this pollution can lead to a variety of illnesses in both children and adults. Although traditional cleaning measures are bound to be of use, they very rarely suffice to rid a home of airborne irritants.

The only way to ensure the quality and integrity of the air indoors is to use a high-grade purifier. These systems have evolved considerably over the past decade and are now remarkably effective at filtering out debris and pollutants. Indeed, the best indoor air purifiers can filter up to 95% of the allergens in a given environment, ensuring improved health and safety.
