Las Vegas NV Hotels

by Julie Atkin

Las Vegas is unlike any other tourist destination. It is not a beach city, nor is it a major metropolis with historical sites and cultural events. It is a city located in the middle of a desert. The hotels, however, recreate many of the above-referenced worlds. Some of the world's greatest cities are brought to the desert, along with fine art, fine dining, resort-style accommodations, and amusement parks.

Las Vegas Casinos
One of the main attractions of Las Vegas hotels are the casinos. Throughout the years, the casinos have become more sophisticated and modern, as well as detailed in design. There are several hotels located in old Las Vegas on Fremont Street, as well as in several surrounding areas. These casinos tend to be smaller and less expensive. One positive aspect of these hotels is the lack of crowds and conventions. It is also rumored that the slots are "looser" at hotels and casinos located off the Strip.

The older hotels downtown are reminiscent of days gone by. Las Vegas history is rich with tales of the owners and gamblers dreaming and developing this adult playground. Las Vegas is the one place in the world where you can get married, get divorced, hire a lawyer, and pick up your dry cleaning, 24 hours a day.

The hotels in Las Vegas provide visitors with a unique experience found no place else. The glamour and the chance to live a hedonistic life for a weekend are what make Vegas so enticing. The hotels all strive to be a part of this experience.
