Venetian Las Vegas
Las Vegas Strip CasinosGambling became legal in Nevada in 1931. In April of 1941, the mother of the strip, El Ranch Las Vegas opened. Soon after, the casinos came rolling in with the tumbleweeds. The Las Vegas strip has been booming for the last 20 years. The Casinos located along the strip are designed to keep you there and keep your quarters flowing into the slots. Each of the hotel resorts along the strip house a casino, generally decorated in that hotel's particular theme. For example, the rounded light blue ceiling in Paris makes you feel that you are sitting under a Parisian sky. The ceiling in the Venetian is colored and shifts to resemble a romantic Venetian sky. Las Vegas CasinosIf you are gambling in one of the many casinos on the strip, there are many incentives to keep you at that particular casino. For one, there are cocktail waitresses offering complimentary alcoholic beverages. In addition, there's a range of slot machines, ranging from penny slots to dollar slots, and everything in between. One difference between casinos on Fremont Street, and casinos on the Strip, is that gambling is more expensive on the Strip. To find penny slots and ten dollar blackjack tables, you might have to go to Fremont Street. Most strip casinos have 25 dollar minimums for blackjack. The strip casinos have hundreds of gaming tables. You can find blackjack, craps, roulette, let it ride, mini baccarat, poker, and more. And for the inexperienced gambler, many of the casinos offer classes on these games as well. There are also sports bookies accepting wagers on major sports events like the Superbowl, World Series, and even weekly sporting events. Not surprisingly, the casinos are packed during big game season. Another perk of the strip casinos are the gaming clubs. Again, each casino wants you to spend your money at their casino, and they offer memberships that resemble grocery store coupon cards. When you use your membership card to gamble, the hotel and casino keep track of how much you spend. You earn points per dollar, and you can redeem these points for souvenirs or upgrades. In addition, you'll be added to the mailing list, and periodically the hotel will send you special promotions and reservation rates for your next stay. ![]() Get all Las Vegas Travel articles via
