Concert Ticket SalesIt can really be a challenge to secure good seats to a popular arena concert. When demand is high and seating capacity is limited, the ticket buying experience becomes a race against time. Some popular shows sell out in a matter of minutes. However, there are a few things you can do to improve your chances of getting tickets to a show that is sure to sell out. Beating the Concert CrushOne thing you can do is watch for pre-sales. Local radio stations offer internet pre-sales to their loyal listeners. This means signing up for a mailing list or joining a frequent listener club and there is usually no cost to join. Fan clubs also offer internet pre-sales. This usually requires purchasing a fan club membership for at least $25. If you want to get the jump on ticket sales for your favorite superstar, join the fan club for access to exclusive pre-sales. If price is no object, you can purchase tickets to sold-out shows from ticket brokers or via an online auction. Brokers are known to inflate ticket prices high above face value. Be prepared to pay handsomely for a pair of seats. Online auctions, on the other hand, reflect the ratio of supply and demand. While you have a better chance of purchasing tickets at fair market value through an online auction, there is no guarantee that the tickets are authentic. Bid at your own risk. If all else fails, it doesn't hurt to make a trip to the arena box office on the day of the show. Tickets are sometimes released at the last minute without notice to the public. These are great seats that are held for the concert promoter or headlining artist. When they are not claimed at will-call, the tickets are made available to the public. ![]() Get all Tickets articles via
