Masters Golf Tournament Tickets

by Alexis Leona

If you are interested in seeing the Masters Golf Tournament live, your best bet is to get in on a practice round. Tournament tickets, which are known as Series Badges, are sold directly to people on a patron list. Series Badges are available for a single day or multiple days of the tournament. The patron list was most recently reopened in 2000 and subsequently closed. As of the 2005, this patron list remained closed to new applicants.

Watch the Masters Perfect Their Swing

The Masters patron list is opened and closed without warning. In order to stay fully informed on the status of the patron list, add your contact information to the Masters Tournament mailing list. As a member of the mailing list, you will also be informed about purchasing tickets to the practice rounds.

Tickets to the practice rounds are available to the public. Applications are accepted for practice round tickets every summer, generally due in July. Tickets are distributed to fans randomly amongst all of the eligible applications received. The lucky winners are notified in September.

Since the patron list is closed to the public, there is a thriving secondary market for Series Badges. Patrons who are eligible to purchase tickets at face value resell their badges to brokers for a profit. These brokers then sell the badges to the public at an even higher price. Unless you know a member of the patron list who will sell you tickets directly, a ticket broker is the only guaranteed way to purchase a premium ticket to the Masters Golf Tournament.
