Premium Concert Tickets

by Alexis Leona

Premium concert tickets are difficult to buy because some of the best seats are never released to the public. For every major concert, there are hundreds of prime seats held for concert promoters, friends of the headliner, and radio promotions. If you want to get a hold of these prime seats, you must be resourceful and willing to pay a high price.

Not every seat at a concert is sold to the public. You've probably been to a sold-out concert and spotted vacant seats in the front sections. These seats were probably put on hold by the promoter and then never claimed. You can claim these seats by turning to a reputable broker.

Ticket brokers are usually first to get their hands on previously reserved seats. They maintain extensive contacts with industry professionals who are glad to relinquish the tickets for a profit. As the consumer, buying from a ticket broker means you not only absorb the cost of the original transaction, but you also pay a premium to the broker. Needless to say, this can get extremely costly as you find yourself paying hundreds of dollars for a ticket that has a face value of less than $75.

If the show is important to you, it is worth it to pay the additional cost. When approaching a concert ticket broker, know exactly what you're willing to pay and stick to your bottom line. Tickets sold by brokers are negotiable. So don't hesitate to bargain with a ticket broker as you would a car salesman. Approach the conversation with confidence and a professional attitude. And remember, sometimes you get the best deal when you're willing to walk away.
