Cuban Cigars

by Wendy Jackson

Would you be surprised to learn that a top-of-the-line Cuban cigar can cost more than 20 US dollars? While importing Cuban cigars into the United States is an illegal act, it is not surprising that counterfeit cigars are popping up everywhere. If you are going to pay for a Cuban cigar, you should make certain that it is the real deal.

Cuban Cigars for Sale

Most people are very trusting. If someone tells them a cigar is a genuine Cuban cigar, they tend to believe it. Many cigar smokers are not educated enough to recognize a fake cigar from an authentic cigar. Even if you are in Cuba, don't assume that you are purchasing the real thing. Many scams are out there, waiting for the novice cigar smoker.

The first thing you should look for when purchasing a box of Cuban cigars is the warranty seal. In the past few years, manufacturers have started putting a hidden UV watermark on their warranty seals. This has cut down on fake seals, but they are still out there--buyer beware.

Warranty seals are green and white. You should educate yourself about the various packaging styles of Cuban cigars, as well. If you are looking at a box of cigars and the box appears manhandled, beware. Many boxes are recycled, with the fakes put inside.
