RV Awnings

by Patricia Skinner

A recreational vehicle without an adequate awning can be very uncomfortable to use in the heat of the midday sun. An awning that fits well can make it a lot cooler in the shade, wherever you are. Fitting your RV with a suitable awning in a color you love will make your RV all the more pleasant to use. For a small extra outlay you can install an RV awning that is fully automatic.

Get in the Shade

With an automatic awning, you can pack up and move on at a moment's notice. Conversely, you can camp out pretty fast too. In mere moments you can go from the open road to sitting relaxed, in the shade, with an automatic awning. In short, an awning can help you make the most of your camping holiday because you can spend a lot less time doing the boring bits, like packing and unpacking.

The different kinds of RV awnings include slide-outs, pop-ups, and add-a-rooms in addition to the more traditional side-awnings. It's even possible to fit your RV with more than one awning for maximum effectiveness. For example, you could have a pop-up at the end, and a more traditional retractable awning at the side to effectively double the space inside your RV.

Although it can be tempting to try and save money when fitting RV awnings, consider your choice carefully. Bear in mind that a good quality awning will give you years of service and will look better longer. If you should decide to sell your RV, good awnings will likely raise your resale value too.
