Custom Logo Design

by Patricia Skinner

If you're going to pay to have a logo created for your company, custom logo design can be a worthwhile avenue to explore. Your company logo is not something you can pick from a template. The whole idea behind a logo is to enhance your company's image: individuality is key.

Finding the best designer possible will be worth the time and money spent. Arriving at a logo design that is truly unique and also reflects your company accurately should be your primary goal. The process of effective logo design should begin with an in-depth discussion with your graphic designer.

Don't Hurry Your Logo Design

Don't expect this phase to be quick. Take the time to communicate your vision fully. Try to convey your hopes and dreams for your company as accurately as possible. What is it exactly that you want to offer your customers? Be totally honest with yourself and with your designer. Only then will you get the balance just right.

Once you've discussed the concept thoroughly, your graphic designer will give you a selection of sketches to choose from. Perhaps you'll choose an object to represent you, or perhaps a stylized name or initials will be more appropriate. Agreeing on a theme at this stage will make sure you're both moving in the right direction. With the chosen sketch in hand, he or she can then work with confidence, knowing that you will most likely approve the final design.
