Madrid Packages

by Sandy Mitchell

Madrid is home to savory treats like tapas and paella, visual delights like Flamenco dancers, and historic sights, like the Plaza Mayor and Retiro Park. Enjoy the vitality of this dynamic, evolving city. Visit during the cooler off-season between December and April, or soak up the sun during Madrid's sultry summer season.

Putting It All Together

Buying a tour package can, frequently, save you money on your trip to Madrid. Tour packages take many forms. Not limited to escorted bus tours, packages can be as simple as airfare, accommodations, transportation to and from the airport, and taxes all combined for one price. Because the tour operator can guarantee a hotel a minimum number of rooms a year, it is generally able to buy the rooms at a much lower rate than a traveler could on his own.

Packages can feature a deluxe hotel, a more modest property, or even, increasingly, a bed and breakfast inn. Generally, a package requires that you stay at least three nights at one destination. Most packages include the basics of airfare, transportation, accommodations, and taxes. Extras, such as sightseeing tours, events like a music festival or bullfight, or sports activities can be added. Are you traveling with a group? Discounts are frequently offered for groups of fifteen travelers or more.

Make reservations for your package tour of Spain with your local travel agent, with an online travel agency, or directly with Iberia Airlines or a tour company that specializes in travel to Spain. A small deposit is generally required, with the balance typically due sixty days prior to departure. Your travel documents are usually sent to you two weeks before your vacation.
