Business Promotional Items

by Ivan Gale

When it comes to spending money on advertising, the sky's the limit in the modern business world--literally. There are few domains on this earth that are protected from advertising. Look up on a sunny weekend day and you just might see a plane carrying a message from a local sponsor. On the opposite end, look into cyberspace and you'll notice the ads are getting bigger and more prevalent. At the same time, if you're reading content on a site, you'll notice the space taken up by articles getting smaller and smaller.

Advertising Options for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses

It costs companies more than two million dollars just to air a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl. That's a lot of money! The benefit of exposure to such a large audience is thought to be well worth the expense, however. For the rest of us, especially people running small to mid-sized local businesses, you'll need to consider a more low-key, affordable way to keep your company name in the public's mind.

Promotional items are an increasingly popular way to ensure customers don't forget about you or your product. They can be in the form of practical tchotchkes like clothing giveaways, bags, books, journals and calendars, computer accessories, and electronics. They can also be light-hearted and funny, like little stuffed animals emblazoned with your company's logo.

People love to get something for nothing. Who doesn't? This love of freebies is one reason why promotional items are so successful at advertising and marketing products effectively. People get a free shirt or a cap and soon they're wearing it around all the time. Not only are they constantly reminded of your product, but so is everyone else who comes into contact with them. Clever.
