Using the latest technology which affords us mind boggling control over our data, we can now have real automated data entry. There are many software programs and electrical devices that employ advanced recognition technology. This means that it is possible to convert information on a variety of forms into digital data that can be use for data mining, customer relationship management, web-based offerings and other marketing initiatives, to name but a few possibilities.

Obviously, any kind of automated data entry will obviate the need for human work. But that doesn't mean that automated data entry will soon be replacing all workers in the data entry industry. That point is not just a long way off, it is something that will never really happen.

Automated Data Entry Is No Threat

However many menial tasks we manage to automate, human technicians will, for the foreseeable future, be needed to make decisions and to create. Despite the fact that humans make mistakes, machines are still the more fallible. Amazingly enough, to date no machine has been invented that can even come close to the analytical capabilities of humans.

So if you're worried that automated data entry is going to deprive you of a job, rest assured. Apart from the reasons I've just listed, there's yet another reason why humans will still be hired for many years to come: most employers just feel safer with a real live human in charge of the machines. Isn't that a comforting thought?
