Treasure Island Hotel Reservations

by Shirley Parker

Many online services will make Las Vegas reservations, but can anyone be sure they will actually have a reservation when they arrive? Automatic reservation services are pretty good, but are not yet perfect. An actual confirmation number is a must, and calling the hotel directly a week or so before you leave home is also a good idea. Hotels almost never mail out reservation confirmations, as they did just three or four years ago.

In certain circumstances, such as during a convention, rooms for "regular" tourists may not be available at all on short notice, unless you are part of a group that has reserved a block of rooms at several hotels for that time period. As a rule, the hotels will allow reasonable "before" and "after" time extensions at the same rate they quoted to the involved company or association members. However, they do have deadlines, so rooms not reserved by that date will be released to the general public.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is the entity in charge of accommodation rules. In fact, they do many other things, including helping you prepare an alibi with the Vegas Alibi Generator online. That part of it is all in fun, of course. For business visitors trying to plan meetings and/or conventions, there is a website link to serious and appropriate information for their needs.

For the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, you can book rooms directly with the hotel online, or you can go through other services that allow you to compare rates being offered. Be a little wary of sites that claim they can get you rooms at TI "for as low as $99 a night." The hotel's own lowest rate is advertised at $79. Again, at certain times of the year, there may not be any low-priced rooms left through any travel service, or directly through the hotel. Las Vegas is normally an extremely busy, even frenetic, place that is full of visitors. However, the economy and other world events can interrupt travel plans now and then, so bargain prices can sometimes be obtained.
