Fort Worth Real Estate

by Michelle Baugh

Due to its proximity to Dallas, Fort Worth has seen a dramatic growth in real estate in recent years. Although nearly 30 miles apart, Dallas and Fort Worth have similar growth pattern with regard to real estate. Events of the past year, most notably in politics and economics, caused a slight downturn in growth, but the two cities appeared to bounce back, and have been growing faster than ever.

One of the major reasons for rapid growth and demand for real estate in Fort Worth is its connections to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The closeness of this international hub makes it very easy for businesses to set up in the area. The creation of these businesses often requires corporate relocation by individuals who can choose to live in either Dallas or Fort Worth. Many of them are choosing Fort Worth for the quality of life, culture, and transportation ease.

Real estate in Fort Worth saw a very drastic upward curve when private investors restored the downtown area, and encouraged the growth of the tourist industry. Locals began to see the benefits of the work, as more restaurants and retail shops opened, and nightlife became more prominent. Additionally, the Will Rogers Convention Center in Fort Worth has helped pull businesses and residents into the area. In March 2005, the city council of Fort Worth approved the construction plans for a 600 room hotel to be built adjacent to the convention center. Although currently under a lease, the possibility of the purchase of the hotel's land, which is valued at over $1,000,000, could help increase the amount of business real estate investments in the area.

People interested in Fort Worth real estate would do well to contact an experienced real estate agent in the area. An agent who knows the area will be well equipped to answer any questions about the area, including the best neighborhoods to live, housing prices and current real estate trends.
