Fort Worth Restaurants

Fort Worth cuisine focuses mainly on typical Lone Star fare. Restaurant favorites include steak, barbeque chicken, and beans. These menu choices are intentional, as some Fort Worth restaurant owners believe it enhances the authentic cowboy experience the area is known for. Various other Southwestern dishes and Tex-Mex cuisine are also prominently featured.

For those who aren't fans of these types of dishes, Fort Worth contains a variety of international restaurants to choose from. It's possible to sample food from Italy, France, Thailand, and the Pacific Rim in a Texas atmosphere, which can range from casual to upscale, depending on the location. These restaurants can often be a welcome change from traditional American and Southwestern food, especially for visitors who have not had much experience with the cuisine from these countries.

As an alternative to the average sit-down restaurant, the Stockyards Station Restaurant offers a murder mystery dinner theater show every Friday and Saturday night. Set in the 1880s, the show combines the unlikely pair of murder and comedy in an interactive production which includes an Old Western dinner.

In addition to the murder mystery show offered in the Stockyards, another murder mystery dinner theater is offered in nearby Dallas, at Pierre's By the Lake. Although low on comedy, the show offered by hosts Keith and Margo features a three-course meal, as well as the option to stay after the show for a private party hosted by a disc jockey. The show does not allow children to attend, and requests a dress code of business casual. Keith and Margo's Murder Mystery Dinner Theater also offers group packages for corporate team building exercises, celebrations, and holidays.
