Fort Worth Texas
Fort Worth HospitalHospitals in the Fort Worth area belong to a non-profit association known as the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council (DFWHC), an organization which aims to constantly improve the quality of health care in Fort Worth and its surrounding areas. In order to be allowed membership into the organization, members must be licensed by and be in good standing with the State of Texas. For 37 years, the DFWCH has strived to improve the conditions at hospitals and healthcare businesses in the Fort Worth area. The organization, which is comprised of members from hospitals and healthcare organizations, is controlled by a Board of Trustees, made up of 11 leaders from member hospitals, namely the Chief Executive Officers and/or Chief Operating Officers of the hospitals. Fort Worth itself has an array of hospitals to choose from. One of the more prominent hospitals is Harris Methodist Hospital, which now has six facilities across Texas. The flagship hospital, located in Fort Worth, opened in 1930. The hospital provides many services, from day surgery to long-term physical therapy. There are some important things to consider when choosing a hospital in the Fort Worth area. One thing to look at is whether the hospital mission statement is compatible with the patient. This is especially important when looking at a hospital that may have religious ties that could present a conflict to personal beliefs. Additionally, certain medical plans may have restrictions on which hospitals, or even possibly which doctors associated with the hospital, can be visited. As with most major decisions, it is always best to weigh each option to discover what will work best for the individual. ![]() Get all Texas Travel articles via
