Tarot Astrology

by Grace Moore

Tarot and astrology often go hand in hand. If you visit a website looking for information on either subject, chances are there will also be information regarding the other subject. Tarot and astrology share believers, symbols, and a similar approach in learning about the self. However, tarot and astrology are separate arts, not to be confused with one another.

The tarot is used as a divination tool by people to learn about potential future events. Readers of tarot use the cards to answer specific questions about future events in a person's life. If they learn that a certain course of action will affect a person's life in a negative way, it gives that person the opportunity to make changes before it's too late. The tarot can also illustrate how certain actions will result in a positive outcome. The tarot is essentially a tool not only for divination, but for self-exploration.

Astrology is not a fortune telling device in the same way that tarot is. Astrology offers explanations on how your date, time and place of birth can influence your nature and personality. Astrology is divinatory in that it predicts a person's personality based on their date of birth. However, it does not offer information about specific events that take place in that person's life. Astrology is a tool that is often used, not only for self-exploration, but for self-explanation.

Tarot and astrology also share common ground in that they have played a significant role in history, philosophy and science. The mystic, but informational aspects of both arts draw people to them still. Tarot and astrology will undoubtedly remain popular pursuits in years to come.
