Reno Nevada

Reno Entertainment

by Patricia Cagle

The number of fun things to do in Reno is nearly impossible to count. Despite its relatively small size (the city is less than 90 square miles), Reno has more for people to do than many places twice its size. Perhaps that's why it is known as the "Biggest Little City in the World!"

The activity for which Reno is most commonly known is (of course) gambling. The city's world-famous gaming strip is lined with wall-to-wall casinos, most of which feature top-of-the-line games and entertainment. The great thing about Reno is that despite its Vegas-style appeal, the city has managed to preserve its small town atmosphere. The result is a unique community that knows how to have a great deal of fun without compromising its charming village flavor.

While the city's gaming opportunities may have earned it a notorious spot on the party map, Reno is also host to many activities that have nothing to do with gambling. Set amongst the spectacular Sierra Nevada mountains, Reno is a magnificent place to re-discover nature. From horseback riding ancient switchback trails to fly-fishing local lakes, Reno's natural wonders are just as beautiful as its artificial ones.

For individuals who like to golf, Reno is host to more than 50 challenging golf courses. For adrenaline junkies who don't mind the cold, nearby Lake Tahoe's ski slopes and snowboard parks are a ton of fun. In Reno, there is simply something for everyone to do. From indoor fun to outdoor adventure, Reno, Nevada has it all.
