Low Testosterone
Testosterone CypionateA synthetic hormone is called an ester, a name given to describe the chemical compound that is formed through the reaction between carboxylic acid and alcohol. Esterification of testosterone improves the solubility of it in oil, thereby slowing down the release of testosterone into the blood stream. The solubility impacts the length of time the ester can stay in the body. If the testosterone were deployed quickly, a spike or boost of the hormone levels would last only a short while, rapidly dropping to below normal levels as the drug ran its course One of the main forms of hormone injection is testosterone cypionate. Once it is injected, this synthetic hormone moves slowly through the body, normally at a rate between 10 and 14 days. The typical dose for testosterone cypionate is therefore once a week to once every three weeks. A high partition coefficient is found in testosterone cypionate. This is the ratio of water solubility to oil solubility. The esterified testosterone is injected into muscle tissue, and from there it enters the blood stream. The slow deployment through the blood's circulation gives the esterified testosterone time to react with the body. In a process called hydrolization, enzymes are released to free the ester from the blood, allowing the ester to carry out its task. There are parallel characteristics between testosterone cypionate and anabolic steroids. Both are widely used to treat HIV-positive patients for low testosterone levels, and the affects of these low levels on the human body. The crucial difference between these two drugs is that testosterone cypionate can exist longer in the body's system, thus it is given more time to react and become effective. ![]() Get all Supplements articles via
