Corporate Golf Scotland

by Shirley Parker

To those on the outside of corporate golf, it may seem that nothing worthwhile could be discussed while grown men and women are playing with a little white ball on the fairways. The truth, of course, is that a great many business decisions are made during just such escapes from the four walls of office politics. However, playing golf with the boss, or with a potential new business partner, is far from being stress-free, something to keep in mind if you are invited to form a foursome in such a game.

On the other hand, the incentives of providing a bonus, as well as an all-expenses paid golf trip, for preferred clients or key employees are enticing. They encourage many golf enthusiasts to perform exceptionally well in their jobs, so that they will indeed be invited along. Top selling salesmen frequently enjoy this kind of perk. Saleswomen, on the other hand, may or may not be included, depending on the corporate environment. Glass ceilings have not been entirely demolished, as even women at the top of their careers point out to interviewers.

The greatest part of corporate golf in Scotland is that hospitality specialists handle everything. The planning and organizing of such a corporate event, from near or far, is exciting, but time-consuming in the extreme. Handing off this responsibility to a professional, who specializes in corporate golfing events, is a wise decision.

When the event is delegated in this way, the Senior Vice President and his Executive Assistant indicate the budget they are allowed, and tell the specialist the type of hotel and location they would like. After that, they do not have to handle every little detail, although they will certainly pay close attention. The specialist handles the accommodations, transportation, catering, prizes, invitations, banners, and many other smaller details. Hosts and guests alike only have to enjoy the occasion.
