Ireland Golf Hotel

by Jordan Weitz

Many of Ireland's hotels center on the country's passion for golf. You might see oil paintings of the area's best courses hanging in the lobby or your room. When it comes to researching your Ireland golf adventure, making the right hotel arrangements is absolutely paramount. Location is perhaps the most vital consideration. As the Emerald Isle is a bit difficult to navigate, especially if you're used to the American six-lane interstate, be sure to look into a hotel's proximity to areas links.

Tourism has developed into Ireland's largest industry, and though prices may be more expensive than they were several years ago, the golf fanatic can save 20 percent compared to a similar trip to Scotland. If you allow for adequate planning and research beforehand, securing accommodations in one of Ireland's many golf hotels should be simple and stress-free.

Near Dublin, Cork, and Galway, you can expect plenty of hotel options. Since greens fees on Ireland's top courses are comparable to what you might find in America, many golfers intent to conserve their Euros choose relatively modest hotels. If you desire something more lavish, fine hotels and resorts are also available.

One of the most brilliant aspects of Ireland is the abundance of castles and manors. Fortunately for visitors, some of these large properties have been converted into hotels. They provide full-service hotel experiences (some include on-site spas) and shuttle service to area courses. Though the Southwest of Ireland and the area surrounding the city of Cork entice perhaps the greatest numbers of golfers with their abundance of courses, hotel and golf packages are available throughout the country.
