Nassau Bahamas CasinoIf you plan to try your luck at the casinos when visiting Nassau, you'll have your choice of two big ones. The first, the Crystal Palace, is located on Cable Beach a few miles outside of town. With 35,000 square feet of space and nearly 700 slot machines, you'll have plenty of options to choose from when it come to placing your bets. Games offered include blackjack (38 tables), Caribbean stud poker (six tables), craps (seven tables), roulette (seven tables), and baccarat (two tables). The second casino in the Nassau vicinity is on Paradise Island, and can be accessed from Nassau by bridge. Paradise Island is roughly one-sixth the size of Providence Island (where Nassau is located) and is a popular destination for entertainment and nightlife. The Atlantis Casino might be considered its centerpiece: attached to a resort with 35 restaurants and bars, a giant ballroom, and well over 2,000 hotel rooms, it rivals something you might find in Las Vegas. The "Atlantis" theme extends to the world's largest marine life preserve, which is also a part of the resort. If your gambling luck is wearing thin, you might try elevating your mood by watching the 50,000 varieties of tropical fish (which include sharks, stingrays, and eels). Alternatively, you could engage in a little retail therapy. Atlantis is also home to a shopping center with 20 shops offering luxury goods as well as authentic Bahamanian arts and crafts. After a long day of playing slot machines, you might be hankering for some sun. Luckily, the Atlantis has over one million gallons worth of swimming pools, both salt water and fresh, to lure you outdoors. An array of waterslides, waterfalls, and poolside bars ensures that you'll never get tired of splashing around. And if it's the real ocean you're after, the Atlantis maintains its own white-sand beach within the resort. ![]() Get all Bahama Vacations articles via
