Viewsonic Screen Protectors

by Kathleen Gagne

As most users of digital products know, electronics companies usually manufacture a wide range of devices, from computer monitors and flat panels to laptops and handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs), such as Viewsonic devices. All of these units involve screens, and screens, especially those that are not made of glass, are subject to damage that reduces their effectiveness. Working with a damaged screen is difficult, and replacing one is expensive.

In particular, screens on devices that are not confined to a desktop can be damaged in a variety of ways. LCD screens and touch screens are growing in popularity for their portability and ease of use. Those who live by their PDAs know full well that their screens can be damaged by something as simple as repeated use of the stylus, and that they are sometimes difficult to read due to glare.

Save the Screen and the Eyes

Inexpensive screen protectors are available for devices ranging from the smallest PDA to the largest LCD flat panel monitor. They offer several advantages. Good ones can be easy to apply, especially those that are device-specific. They are thin yet strong enough to withstand blows that could damage the integrity of an unprotected screen.

They are great on laptops because they can reduce some of the glare caused by tipping the screen backward or forward. On handhelds, the protector should be fitted slightly under the plastic edges around the screen. This will help to minimize dust incursion. Newer versions of screen protectors are designed to adhere to the screen with virtually no bubbling so that the user can enjoy a clear, eminently readable screen.
