Manhattan Real Estate

by Patricia Cagle

Manhattan boasts some of the most highly sought-after real estate in the world. Unquestionably the most elite of New York City's famed five boroughs, the island of Manhattan covers merely 23.7 square miles. Despite its demure actual size, Manhattan's reputation for hosting New York's creme de la creme is truly immeasurable.

Manhattan is by far the most densely populated city in the country. With less than two dozen square miles with which to work, inhabitants make up in height what they lack in width. With a population totaling nearly two million people, creativity flows almost tangibly through the various apartment buildings. Although the size of its real estate may not be remarkable, the views, charm and (of course) famous zip code make the cramped quarters more than livable.

If you are thinking about purchasing property in Manhattan, keep in mind that it is one of most expensive areas in the U.S. Although there are certainly deals to be had, Manhattan real estate isn't exactly known for being cheap. Thus, buyers are wise to secure the services of a reputable real estate agent.

A real estate agent is crucial to the process of buying property in Manhattan. With many options to consider--and many of them going off the market incredibly quickly--it is more than helpful to have a professional aiding the search. Whether you are a first-time buyer or a seasoned real estate pro, having a real estate agent in your corner will make the overall experience much easier and ensure that you get the best real estate Manhattan has to offer.
