Queens Real Estate

by Patricia Cagle

For individuals who wish to live near New York City but can't quite afford the hefty price tag, Queens provides the perfect solution. One of New York's celebrated five boroughs, Queens is a unique Long Island neighborhood with a great deal of charm. From natives to transplanted Manhattan commuters, Queens has something to offer everyone.

Although it was once considered a New York City suburb, the area of Queens is now quite urban itself. Just a stone's throw outside of Manhattan, Queens is a unique mixture of residential charm and municipal chic. Similar to many of the boroughs outside of New York, Queens offers a drastically lower price tag on real estate than its metropolitan siblings. Although the area might not be as glamorous, Queens real estate offers more space for your dollar.

Shopping for real estate in Queens can prove challenging. A complex amalgam of neighborhoods and districts, each region of Queens has its own flavor. Thus, prospective homeowners should browse with the assistance of a professional real estate agent. Queens real estate agents are very familiar with the area and can advise their clients on the best places to buy (both financially and culturally).

Queens may not be as posh as Manhattan, but what it lacks in renowned sophistication it more than makes up for in character. It is close enough to the action to be exciting, yet removed enough to be unruffled. What's more, its conservative price range makes it possible for even the most budget-savvy buyers to purchase what they need.
