New York City Apartments

by Patricia Cagle

If there is one thing of which New York City has plenty, it's apartments. Encompassing a mere 24 square miles of land, Manhattan doesn't have much room to expand. Thus, apartment buildings keep climbing and climbing in order to keep up with the city's expanding population. From Tribeca to Midtown East, New York City apartments are always on the rise both literally and figuratively.

In most cases, budget plays a primary role in the process of acquiring a New York City apartment. Unless the individual in question is extremely wealthy, price will likely determine the location of the apartment, the size, the amenities, etc. Thus, it is important for potential buyers to determine their budget before searching. After all, it is neither helpful nor beneficial to waste time browsing properties that are financially out of reach.

Location is another important factor when it comes to New York City apartments. Like most big cities, NYC has its share of both good and bad neighborhoods. Naturally, the best locales are going to carry the highest price tags. Shoppers must often decide which is more important: size or location. A tiny studio apartment on the Westside, for instance, will likely cost as much as a larger space in SoHo.

The great thing about apartments in New York City is the fact they offer so much character. While they might not have all the amenities and/or luxuries as traditional-style apartments, each space offers something unique. From loft-style spaces in the Meatpacking District to creative studios on the East side, there are many inventive New York City apartments from which to choose.
