Troy New York Real Estate

by Patricia Cagle

Real estate in Troy, New York is an excellent investment. Located on the spectacular Hudson River, Troy is as scenic as it is charming. Just North of Albany and 160 miles outside of New York City, Troy is conveniently located and offers its residents an address that is both quaint and central.

With a population of more than 50,000, Troy, New York is one of New York's more popular residential communities. Although it suffered a slight economical bruise during the urban renewal of the 1970s, contemporary Troy is quite revitalized. A great contributor to Troy's renaissance has been the city's vast collection of antique structures and artwork. A one-time leader in classic 19th century architecture, the city of Troy has proudly maintained many of the original buildings in this style.

Additionally, Troy is home to an impressive collection of antique stores that specialize in Victorian-style trinkets of all shapes and sizes. This "Antique District" (as it has been casually named) is a favorite among residents and locals alike. Then again, individuals don't have to visit an antique store in order to experience the community's heritage. A walk down any of Troy's beautiful downtown streets will do the trick.

The purchase of real estate in Troy, New York can be a great decision for many New Yorkers and out-of-state transplants. A charming town that is going nowhere but up, a beautiful home today stands a reasonable chance being worth a great deal more tomorrow. Potential Troy homeowners would be wise to secure the services of an area real estate agent and then access the MLS for virtual tours and specific property information.
