Corning New York Real Estate

by Patricia Cagle

Individuals who are looking for quaint New York charm amidst lovely surroundings might be interested in visiting Corning. A small city located in central New York, Corning is directly adjacent the Finger Lakes region and boasts breathtaking geography as well as a festive community flavor.

One of the things for which Corning is principally known is its glass creations. A trade that is centuries old in local development, Corning's glassmaking industry is one of the largest in the country. People come from hundreds of miles to purchase one-of-a-kind glassworks and browse Corning's Museum of Glass (which recently underwent a $60 million dollar refurbishment).

Albeit impressive, Corning's glass creations aren't the only things for which the city is famous. The area is also home to an impressive park system. Depending on outdoor preference, visitors can spend the day fishing in the Finger Lakes, hit the trails for miles of uninterrupted natural beauty, or spend a quiet afternoon picnicking in one of Corning's many scenic hideaways. The choices are endless, which makes this a great city for residents, not just visitors.

For some contemporary entertainment, Corning's Market Street is home to many delicious restaurants, local breweries, theatres, and even art galleries. The great thing about Corning is that there is truly something for everyone. Known as the "small city that is big on culture," Corning is an excellent place to plant some seeds and watch them grow. Individuals who are looking to make a wise investment in the New York area would be wise to consider Corning real estate.
