Amarillo Texas Real Estate

by Patricia Cagle

The state of Texas has perfected the art of combining big-city convenience with small-town charm. Case and point: the City of Amarillo. A charismatic and lively city with plenty of southern comfort, Amarillo is a terrific place to call home. What's more, its affordable real estate prices make relocation to Amarillo an economically smart choice.

Amarillo is located in western Texas in the center of the panhandle. Residents of the city enjoy a relatively mild climate with temperatures in the 40s and 50s during the winter and in the 80s and 90s in the summer. As far as real estate is concerned, Amarillo has a great deal to offer. From small townhomes to vast estates, the real estate dollar stretches a long way in Amarillo.

One of the great things about Amarillo is its cultural diversity. A 21st century metropolis with plenty of sophistication and modern conveniences, Amarillo has never forgotten its southern roots. Subsequently, the city is host to many attractions that pay homage to traditional Texas ways of life such as the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo and the Big Texan Opry.

Like many Texas cities, Amarillo also boasts an impressive number of state-of-the-art cultural centers and art exhibits. The Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, for instance, is home to such famed artistic organizations such as the Amarillo Opera, the Lone Star Ballet Company and the Amarillo Symphony. While the above information gives the reader a glimpse into all that Amarillo has to offer, one truly has to experience the city firsthand to fully comprehend its uniqueness.
