Union Free

by Diane Sievert

Union free is the best way to be. In a nation that embraces all aspects of capitalism, unions are extremely problematic. The most effective way to run a business is without union interference.

Why Everyone is Better Off Union Free

Some believe that only management benefits from union avoidance. This, however, is a common misconception. Employees can benefit as well.

Take the following example. Union Worker X and Union Worker Y have both been employed by Company Z for the same amount of time in the same position. Even though Union Worker X is twice as productive as Union Worker Y, they are paid the same salary.

Unions regulate so many aspects of employment, it is often hard for management to reward more productive employees. Union free environments give management the opportunity to pay their employees fairly. Unions can also create tense and rigid employer-employee relations.
