Non Exclusive Life Insurance Leads

As a general rule, you are more likely to make a sale with an exclusive, fresh lead. It you're just starting out, however, or if cost is an issue, you may want to consider non exclusive life insurance leads. These are leads that are sold up to a specified number of times and that are discounted either for age or the number of sales. Another reason to buy non exclusive leads is if you sell insurance at discounted rates.

Sometimes, experienced agents use non exclusive leads because they are comfortable being compared to other agents and can often make a sale. Generally, non exclusive leads will pan out on a first-come first-served basis, and they cost less. In some cases, agents buy those leads and don't follow up on them, so you may often be the only person calling the lead.

Making It Work

Some companies will sell you as few as one lead at a time; others have an established minimum number of leads in a package. You should check on whether a company that offers a great price has a minimum. You will also want to know what methods of payment are available to you and what the leads contain. Simple lists are obviously the least effective way to go. An actual transcript of the telemarketer's conversation with the lead containing the contact's responses to specific questions is the best way to go.

You make the whole process work, whether you buy exclusive or non exclusive life insurance leads, by how fast you call the lead and how much information you have about what they want before you call. Buying leads regularly also helps because it allows you to keep prospects in your pipeline at all times, and you can continue to contact leads that were not available on your first call. You may want to try out one or more leads generators before you choose the one you want to work with.
