Rare Out Of Print BooksIf a book is out of print, good copies of the book will begin to increase in value. Depending on how old the book is, there may be very few copies available. The fewer the copies, the more valuable each copy will be. Note that not all out of print books are valuable. Value is also based on a copy's condition and whether there is a viable market for the book. You will find that there are a number of dealers on the Internet who offer rare out of print books for sale. They claim to have access to millions of books that fit in this category. Some offer books at auction while others simply conduct a search for you based on how much you're willing to invest in a particular book. Finding the Book You WantIt's easy to go online and to find one of the sites described above, but it's not usually very easy to find exactly what you want by viewing their offerings. For example, if you enter Jane Eyre for a search, you will see hundreds and hundreds of editions, commentaries, photos, and more. On the other hand, if you conduct your search through a reputable rare books dealer online, you can be confident that they will do the work for you, using the extent of their experience and expertise on your behalf. If you're looking for specific rare out of print books, you can describe them to the dealer. The dealer will then advise you what it will cost for them to do a search of their database information. They will want to know the maximum amount you're willing to spend on the search and/or on each book. Then you just sit back and wait for them to contact you. It is especially important to take this option if you don't know a lot about rare books. ![]() Get all Rare Books articles via
