Radar Detectors and Jammers
Do Radar Jammers WorkAs a driver looking to avoid costly speeding tickets, you might be asking yourself, "Do radar jammers work?" The answer, of course, is that they do, as they would not have achieved such widespread use if they didn't have the track record of being effective. At the same time, as with all technology, no device is guaranteed to be 100 percent effective. Do Radar Jammers Work--A Few QualificationsTo understand the question "Do radar jammers work?" it's important to understand first just how they work. The answer lies in the purpose of a jammer, which is to scramble the outgoing signal reflected off of your vehicle. A typical jammer does so by processing the incoming signal from the targeting device, coupling it with FM static, and then reflecting it back to the targeting device. In this regard, a jammer takes a more active role in counteracting targeting technology than a traditional radar detector. Importantly, a jammer functions only as a receiver, not a transmitter, and is therefore compliant with FCC regulations. It merely reflects back to the targeting device what is essentially a confusing return signal that the device's computer cannot interpret. In this way, a jammer can serve as both a detection device and as a proactive evasion device. A CaveatIf you still have any doubts about the effectiveness of radar jammers, perhaps you should consider that those doubts can probably be limited to concerns about the effectiveness of technology in general. The bottom line, however, is that any jamming device you have at your disposal is going to be far more effective than no device at all! If you are looking for a fighting chance to avoid speeding tickets, a radar jammer is probably going to give you the best chance you can find. ![]() Get all Radar Detectors articles via
