Life In The City Of RaleighThere are so many things to do in Raleigh that you could probably never run out of ways to entertain and inform your family. You can start with the twenty free attractions including the North Carolina Museum of History, the state Capitol, Artspace, the Martin Luther King Memorial Gardens, and the Aftrican-American Cultural Complex. Events include the State Fair, art exhibits, Cirque du Soleil, and a list too long to include here. Raleigh has an IMAX theater at its Exploris Interactive Museum of the World. There you can see exceptional movies seven stories high and a museum of the future. The Carolina Hurricanes play professional hockey at the $152 million RBC Center in Raleigh which also includes a 20,000 seat basketball venue. The Alltel Pavillion in the Walnut Creek area has hosted such amazing bands and musicians as Pearl Jam, Alabama, Brooks and Dunn's, Kenny Chesney, and Toby Keith. As you can see, entertainment in Raleigh comes in a wide range of forms! Family LifeWhile the booming economy is based on a strong business foundation, much of the charm of life in Raleigh is centered around family activities and values. Many of the parks and attractions are family oriented or offer family options. Neighborhoods are family friendly, and school activities are common. Though the North Carolina State Fair doesn't come up until October, the fairgrounds are used often during the year for various local and regional events. Coming up in March are a flea market, the Carolina Collector Auto Fest, the Young Olympians Cheer Parade Clinic, and the Champion Cheerleading Competition among others. In the nearby town of Cary, the Amphitheatre at Regency Park holds seating for 7,000 to watch world-class concerts of all kinds during the summer months. ![]() Get all North Carolina Real Estate articles via
