In 2000, there were 3,523,944 homes in North Carolina, and 69.4 percent of them were occupied by their owners. The median value of owner-occupied housing was $108,300. At the time, 2.49 persons occupied each household in North Carolina. North Carolina, especially the Triangle area, is growing at a steady pace, and property values are increasing accordingly. From 2000 to 2001, Raleigh grew by about 12,000 persons. North Carolina ranks 11th in population among the United States. Its residents grew in number in 2002 by about 300,000 or 3.36 percent.

Some Interesting Facts about Real Eestate In North Carolina

An increasing number of town homes sold in North Carolina are being bought by single women who prefer the relative security and lower maintenance of attached homes. Townhomes start at around $120,000. Also, local Raleigh builder, Anderson Homes, is one of the largest builders in the area, but they are experiencing significant competition from two national builders. This has been a benefit to first-time buyers who can buy homes from the national builders who buy materials in bulk and can charge less for the homes they build.

While home sales in general have slowed recently, the decades-low interest rates are encouraging renters to buy, and new homes sales are growing. Raleigh luxury homes for sale in Briar Creek are custom homes built by Toll Brothers national builders. Torrey Homes, the largest Triangle home builder in 2001, has built award-winning luxury townhomes in North Raleigh. Torrey has 18 communities in the Raleigh area, and their homes start at around $100,000.

In the Highlands at Sherwood Forest, you can find a peaceful subdivision its builders call "moderately priced, artistically pleasing . . . with the finest of lifestyle features and quality of construction." These homes offer easy access to Raleigh. Build by Bob and Terri Cieri, they start at around $85,000.
