Olympus 5000The Olympus 5000 has less focal range than the 750 but a bigger CCD (1.8"), five million pixels for superior resolution, and a host of other add-ons. You can fill your artistic potential with the Olympus 5000 by having the light you always need; there's a "hot shoe" connection that lets you add an external flash, which means no more dark pictures. The 5000 also offers a range of precision metering devices so your pictures come out properly exposed and balanced. Though the 3x optical zoom is only equivalent to 114mm on a 35mm camera, the 4x digital zoom extension lets you get right up alongside (or into) your subject for an intimate shot. Other creative features include six different modes such as portrait, landscape, sports, and night scene. Why Should I Buy an Olympus 5000?Like the 750 C camera digital Olympus, the Olympus C5000 is designed for both fledgling and experienced photographers. If you want to learn the basics, shift out of auto-focus mode and play with the manual settings. The C5000 makes it easy to adjust the shutter, aperture, and lenses, depending on your subject, the amount of available light, and how much time you have at your disposal. With all these great extras, the Olympus C5000 is an excellent value. You get reliable performance, clear resolution, and a package of customizable features, all for a relatively cheap price. There are more expensive models on the market, but not all of them deliver on their promise. More money certainly does not guarantee better features in the world of digital photography. ![]() Get all Cameras articles via
