Hair Transplant Price

by Charles Peacock

Hair transplant surgery can be expensive, but it's important to remember that it is comparable to the long-term cost of other hair loss treatments. Hair pieces, for instance, can cost thousands of dollars, and they need to be replaced every few years. If you go the pharmaceutical route, you may find yourself shelling out thousands of dollars every year for medicine that you have to use for the rest of your life.

Hair Transplant Surgery Pricing

The good thing about hair transplant surgery is that it comes with a flat price that is determined by the doctor during the initial consultation. There are no surprise fees, and there is no need to pay more down the road to maintain what has already been done. If you are worried about paying a lot of money right away, you can always go with a doctor who will allow you to finance the procedure.

Most hair transplant doctors require a flat fee for the use of the operating room. This is usually between one and two thousand dollars. After this initial fee, you only have to pay for the grafts that are being performed on your scalp. The number of grafts required depends on the level of your baldness.

Surgeons typically charge somewhere between four and ten dollars per graft. Smaller procedures (for a single smallish bald spot, for example) require a few hundred grafts. People with extensive baldness may require up to several thousand grafts.
