Arizona Birth Record

by Rachel Arieff

Arizona birth records are legally viewable by any person who was born in the state of Arizona. As a person with this right, you are also legally entitled to order copies of your birth certificate for your personal use. State-certified copies are provided as a matter of course, but in the rare circumstance that non-certified copy is desired, then the state can often accommodate that request, too.

However, it's important to know that only the person named on the Arizona birth record may view it or obtain copies of it. In other words, no one but you may access your birth record, and certainly, no one but you may receive copies of your birth certificate. The only exceptions to this rule generally are your parents and your designated legal representative, if you have one.

The Importance of Obtaining Copies of Your Arizona Birth Record

Why is it so important to have a copy of your Arizona birth record? For one thing, it's vital information that directly concerns you and only you, so you should have it. The most important reason, however, is that your Arizona birth certificate is an important legal document and a powerful tool that can help you get out of some sticky situations, should they arise.

These "sticky situations" can range from losing your driver's license to being asked to produce primary identification documents proving your identity. Who knows what surprises life has in store for you? Anyone knows, though, that to be prepared is far more preferable to being caught without the tools we need to help ourselves.
