Like its predecessor, "Halo 2" is currently one of the most popular Xbox games. Featuring a variety of ways to play, this game of futuristic combat and an alien crusade is loved by combines several video game genres into one highly successful package. Although technically a first-person shooter, "Halo 2" weaves a complex story through a detailed universe, giving it the feel of a strategic role playing adventure.

The original "Halo" game was generally recognized as the Xbox's flagship title, setting a new standard of gameplay. "Halo 2" continues the tradition, while, like all good sequels, increasing the thrills. The first game introduced players into a plot about an alien invasion, but did so from a limited perspective. "Halo 2" reveals more of the game's storyline, immersing players into a sprawling, tangled conspiracy.

"Halo 2" greatly expands on the original story, as players fight their way though 15 expertly rendered levels. The sequel features several dozen more locations than the original. The story, which takes an average of 10 hours to complete, contains over 20,000 lines of dialog, making almost as much of a movie as it is a game.

"Halo 2" allows gamers to experience the adventure on their own, or as part of a team. Xbox owners who have no gaming partners close at hand, can take advantage of the online multiplayer function, which allows a group of to simultaneously play the game via a broadband connection. "Halo 2" also features a "versus" option, where players can do battle against each other, using a split screen feature.
