GameSpot is an online video game magazine that is considered by many gamers to be one of the top sources for video game news and reviews. The site was founded in 1996 as a resource for PC gamers, and soon expanded to cover console video games as well. Gamespot's categorized coverage of a variety of console and PC video games has made it one of the most heavily visited websites of the last several years.

The most recent Gamespot update lists the site's current selections for the top Xbox games available. At the top of the list is "Halo 2," the long anticipated sequel to "halo," the most popular Xbox game of all time. "Halo 2" is a first person shooter that also incorporates a storyline that surpasses the usual complexity of the genre.

Gamespot also ranks "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords" as one of the current top games for the Xbox. This action game allows players to choose from several characters in order to complete missions drawn from the expanded Star Wars universe. Gamers become heroic Jedi Knights, and must confront and defeat the evil Sith Lords, who are attempting to take over the galaxy. Jedi Knights advance through the story by defeating various Sith opponents in combat, usually in a lightsaber duel.

The "Sith Lords" game features a storyline that predates the events in the theatrical Star Wars prequel trilogy, but alludes to events that take place during the recently released "Revenge of the Sith" film. Gamespot also ranks the "Revenge of the Sith" video game among the best new Xbox titles. This adventure mirrors the events in the newest Star Wars movie, and allows players to become several different characters at various points in the game.
