Teeth problems are a very common obstacle among Americans. Even though we are taught at an early age how important brushing is, there are still many factors that influence the strength and durability of tooth enamel. Without educating yourself on these factors you could be doing unnecessary damage to your teeth.

Stained teeth is widespread problem that is easily avoided and treatable. If you drink an excess of coffee or tea, chances are your teeth are beginning to turn a shade of yellow. Other staining foods are red wine, soy sauce, and cranberries. Nicotine can also have a yellowing effect on tooth enamel.

Tending to Teeth Problems

Cavities occur when the bacteria begins to eat away at your tooth enamel. Frequent brushing, flossing and rinsing can alleviate cavities from forming. Unfortunately, once a cavity has formed the next step is to see a professional dentist for a filling. This will prohibit the cavity from spreading any further into your tooth.

If you neglect your cavities you are likely to experience a root canal. This is essentially the hollowing out of a tooth that has decayed beyond repair. Rather that extracting the tooth entirely, the tooth is emptied and left in place for cosmetic reasons. These teeth problems and others like it are both very expensive and painful to repair.
