Identifying with Teens Through Christian Movies

Christian movies have become an increasingly popular method to teaching bible study. Identifying with teenagers is the first obstacle to overcome as a youth leader. Unfortunately, this is the toughest age to contend with making this objective no easy feat.

Teenagers have a mind of their own and are usually not interested in participating in anything that strays from their personal list of interests. We've already mentioned how effective Christian music can be with teen students. Another method of education you may want to try is movies.

All teens love to go to the movies. In fact, you probably drop your son or daughter off at the theater each Friday night with a group of friends. Combining Christian education and film is another successful, and somewhat sneaky method of sharing Christian beliefs and values with your children.

Getting the Message Across

Christian movies have a reputation of being long, overly-biblical and just plain boring; at least to teenagers. Why not find a movie that applies Christian education to real-life scenarios of teenagers? By visually associating Christian beliefs through the life of a teenager, your son or daughter are more likely to absorb the movie for what it really is; a message.
