Preaching Resources

by Jessica Duquette

Preaching resources are plentiful if you know the right places to look. It is likely that you have relied on peers and mentors to provide you with the resources to teach your church youth group. While those people have given you valuable lessons and information which you will continue to use, you feel the need for a change.

Facing the Crowd

As a pastor you are a full-time public speaker. Every speaker feels the pressure to entertain and educate an audience. If you feel as though you're losing people's interest more often than not, it may be time to freshen up on your technique.

Various Preaching Resources

Preaching resources come in many different forms. A youth pastor may adopt the lesson plans in a discussion starter book. This will help loosen teens up to begin talking about Christianity and how it affects every day life. Adults are more open to discussing such topics and may require a different sort of stimuli.

Films, novels, music and more are all components that can be utilized to achieve an effective educational program. By changing your resources you will continually engage your audience and keep them on their toes. Remember, people want to listen and learn, so providing them with an environment to do so is your biggest challenge.
